We would like to start by saying thank you to the entire Ninja Community for all the support you have shown us throughout this first year. Ninjas are amazing!
We learned a great deal this first year and have taken the feedback we received through emails, conversations and surveys to make improvements to the 2019 Ninja Planner. We believe these improvements will add even more value to your business and your life in 2019!
Let’s take a look at the changes we have made.
First, let’s talk about the size of the Ninja Planner. From the surveys we conducted, about 75% of the Ninjas carry it with them all the time or at least half of the time. The number one reason people did not carry the Ninja Planner was the overall size. Survey respondents also let us know that they did not want the individual pages to be any smaller in overall size as many actually wanted more room to write on each line and each page. So, here is our dilemma: how do we make the overall size of the Ninja Planner less bulky but also keep the individual pages at least the same size so that people have room to write? And remember, a majority of survey respondents were happy with the size of the Ninja Planner just the way it was. After much deliberation and prototype testing we think we hit on an option that best meets the needs of all involved.
For the majority of you that like the Ninja Planner just the way it is, great news- the 2019 Ninja Planner will have the same overall size and dimensions as the 2018 Ninja Planner. It will come with the same spiral binding and have the same functionality, just like 2018 Ninja Planner.
For those that wanted a Ninja Planner less bulky, but still with room to write on each page we have an option for you too! We have pre-drilled each page of the 2019 Ninja Planner to fit into a three-hole binder. You now have the option to remove the spiral binding from the 2019 Ninja Planner and carry just the pages you would like with you. However, with great power comes great responsibility. Please note: If you decide to remove the spiral binding, it is a destructive process and the spiral binding cannot be re-inserted into the 2019 Ninja Planner. We use a high quality, plastic coated, wire core spiral binding. It does take some effort to remove and it cannot be re-inserted. We will release additional information detailing how to do this should you decide to take this step.
Remember, the Ninja Planner was specifically designed to maximize your performance on the Ninja Path. To be effective you still need to use each page in the Ninja Planner. We spoke with Ninja Instructors, and coaches at many brokerages and they all agree that each page in the Ninja Planner is needed and should be used to help you stay on the Ninja Path. At a minimum, you will probably want to keep at least current week, the previous two weeks and the upcoming month, including the Ford and Record section for each week with you at all times. After the pages have been used you should keep them as a record of your business, what you’ve accomplished and how you can improve your business moving forward.
Now, lets look at some of the rest of the changes we made to the Ninja Planner which all focus on the Weekly View.
First, we changed the layout of the daily 8am-5pm view. Instead of listing half hour increments, we include one hour increments with an extra line between each hour. This can be used to write in appointments at a specific time increment or it can be used for extra writing space related to an appointment in that time block.
Many of you also let us know that you wanted time scheduling space on Saturday’s and Sunday’s. We heard you and now include an 8am-5pm schedule for Saturday’s and Sunday’s so you can schedule your activities on those days as well.
We also understand that your day starts before 8am and ends after 5pm. For this reason, we have included blank lines before 8am and after 5pm on each day. These can be used to write in appointments that happen outside the 8am-5pm window or you can use them as extra note taking space.
Another weekly view change that is a bit more subtle is the change in the way we labeled the Action Items sections. Now, the Action Items listed on each day are labeled as Action Items Today. At the right side of the page, we now have a section for Action Items This Week. Although a small change, we hope this will help you prioritize what needs to be done on a specific day versus something you need to accomplish during the week. We still include check boxes by each Action Item, so that you know, at a glance whether you have accomplished something on your Action Item List.
The rest of the 2019 Ninja Planner follows much the same format as the 2018 Ninja Planner, so if you used the 2018 Ninja Planner this should feel very familiar. We are very excited to hear how the 2019 Ninja Planner impacts your business and your life. Please send us your questions, comments and feedback, both positive and negative to firstname.lastname@example.org. Hearing from you is how we make the Ninja Planner better for 2020 and beyond! It takes a community and we are grateful for each and every Ninja!

Just like the Ninja Nine forms the core of the Ninja Program, the weekly view is the core of the Ninja Planner. The power of the weekly view comes from the ability to know, at a glance, where you stand on accomplishing your Ninja Nine for the Week.
