The Ninja Morning Routine starts with gratitude. Gratitude is a very positive, powerful force in our lives. When expressed properly, gratitude moves us into the high positive energy quadrant. However, what many people don’t know is that to really immerse yourself in gratitude, and to move the needle into the positive energy quadrant, you need to feel gratitude. What the heck does that mean?

Let’s look at an example. Take a moment and think of a person you are grateful for in your life. Instead of just saying or writing down that person’s name, bring a mental image of that person into your mind. Now, you can close your eyes if it is helpful, but take a few moments and really feel the warm, emotional feeling of gratitude you have for the person. You can repeat this process for anything you are grateful for in your life. For example, if you are grateful that you are healthy enough to go for a run each morning, then imagine yourself on your favorite run and take a few moments and really feel grateful.

Gratitude is a very powerful emotion. Emotions are feelings. To maximize the positive benefits of gratitude in your life, start your morning routine by feeling grateful.
